We are completely blown away. ​When we teamed up to host the Derby on July 4th, we knew we had an incredible community—but the generosity, energy, and love you showed us completely surpassed anything we could have imagined. ​There is something truly unique about the way Albertans pull together. When a neighbor is in need, or a vital cause calls, this community rolls up its sleeves, shows up, and creates something unforgettable. Seeing everyone come together at the grounds to support local palliative care was a beautiful reminder of the strength and compassion right here in our own backyard. ​The truth is, we are nothing without the people of our community. Programs, equipment, and dedicated care suites only happen because of your ticket purchases, your donations, and your invaluable volunteer hours. You are the heart and soul of this mission, ensuring that our friends, neighbors, and families receive dignity, comfort, and deep support when they need it most. ​ To every single attendee, volunteer, sponsor, and partner who made the Derby such a massive success: Thank you. You have made a profound difference, and we are deeply grateful to walk alongside you.

But you don't have to carry it alone. ​Today, the Lacombe Palliative Care Society had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Mary Jean from Horse Connect to explore their incredible Equine-Assisted Therapy and Grief programming. A huge thank you to Mary Jean for sharing how these amazing animals can help us heal! 🤍 ​Horses don’t judge. They are patient, kind, and completely present. Whether your loss is fresh or old, anticipated or already here, horses provide a safe, authentic space to just be and process your truth. ​If you are looking for a real space for your grief, join the monthly Grief Circles: ​🗓️ When: The second Saturday of every month 🕐 Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM 💰 Cost: $50 per session ☀️ Note: We will be outside, so please dress for the weather! Light snacks and beverages are provided. ​While this is a drop-in program, pre-registration is required.
